Dallas SWE hosted the annual Spring Social on April 6th at Cottonwood Park. It was a delightful gathering filled with engaging activities and meaningful conversations. Attendees enjoyed talking while working on paint by numbers and coloring book pages.
One of the highlights of the event was the lively discussions about the impact of ChatGPT on academics. Members shared their perspectives on how AI technologies are changing the way this generation’s students are approaching education.
With the solar eclipse around the corner, everyone talked about the rare event and shared how they were planning on celebrating the occasion. Barbara Read showed us the cookies she baked for her coworkers!
The event was also a great opportunity to learn more about our fellow SWE members. We learned that Barbara loves to crotchet and she sent us the instructions on how to crotchet a tote bag using plastic bags! As she mentioned, it is a great artistic venture to take up to celebrate Earth Day! We also learned more about Book Club from Ashley Johnson, our Dallas SWE Book Club lead and learned about everyone’s preferred genres and got quite a few book recommendations.
Overall, the Spring Social was a successful and stress relieving event!
