Congratulations to Hazelynn Jones, Dallas SWE’s May Member of the Month!
Hazelynn Jones joined Dallas SWE when she moved to the metroplex in 2022. Her goal was to meet new friends, and inspire the next generation. As a recent graduate, and new mechanical engineer she wanted to make acquaintances with other people in the industry and learn from them. She, also believes strongly that she would not have made it through engineering education if it were not for meeting a few inspiring ladies in STEM throughout her life. Volunteering for outreach programs provides her a way to say “thank you” and pay it forward.
Dallas SWE Book Club provides an avenue for being a part of eye-opening conversations, observing new points of view, and learning life lessons. With novels spanning last-chance world-saving missions to period pieces featuring the need for diversity, the book club facilitates personal growth. Additionally, Hazelynn has volunteered for a Girls Inc. outreach which included leading a small group through a sample product development scenario. Her favorite part was watching the kids use their imagination to solve real world problems. After this experience, she looks forward to volunteering for more events like it.
Hazelynn has been an Engineer at Kubota Tractor Corporation for two years. Currently she focuses on validation and implementation for the RTV product line. Her favorite part of the job is making sure the customer requirements are met through application testing. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in the spring of 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and a minor in entrepreneurship. Her hobbies include overlanding, camping, foraging, and working on a 1988 Ford Mustang GT.
