On April 14, Dallas SWE hosted Nandika D’Souka to discuss “Strategies for True Inclusion: the World is in Your Workplace.” Nandika’s presentation explored the how the engineering workforce demographics of race, national origin, and cultural identity differ from the US Population at large. She explored cultural concepts proposed by Hoffstede and discussed how cultural heritage influences relationships, communications, and expectations, giving some examples from her own experience as an immigrant to the US and in her interactions with international students in academia.
